It’s exciting to learn together and collaborate for enhanced learning. The benefits of learning in groups encourages one to work with others toward a common goal. While a student is practicing their skills individually, they have time to collaborate with each other in groups to check their learning. Many times , the ideas that another group member mentions may enable the individual student to expand on their project and learning their skill. Another benefit to working in groups is to recognize that one is not on their own and can count on each other for the building blocks toward their success . Cooperation toward a common mission of learning engages students in further motivation toward learning a skill. The interpersonal interactions with each other discussing a project or common activity, far outweighs the benefits of isolated learning. So next time someone asks you why are you working in tutoring groups instead of individual learning, let them know that no one is an island on their own and together many accomplish more! Happy learning!
